Re: My new Taiwanese Beauty Snake

I got a baby Moquards Beauty Snake this weekend as well. It looks just like a Taiwanese though so I don't really know the difference. What all do you know about them? I know the general care, but do you know the differences between the subspecies, general temperament, etc? How is yours doing and are you happy with him or her?

    Gorgeous by the way!

In terms of the temperment some snakes calm down and make great pets while others never do, so I guess it just depends on the individual snake.

i've heard that whether or not they are captive bred or wild caught can have a huge hand in whether or not they mellow out with age.
If CB most likely yes, if WC, not always.. I wouldn't take that to gospel, but I've found that info to be pretty accurate.
If you ever go to purchase a "imported breed" I'd ask, because most "import breeds" are wild caught and shipped over.
Even some domestic breeds are WC, so, it never hurts to ask.
