    Re: Possible burn help

A while back I contacted http://www.mountainside-medical.com/ about purchasing silver sulfadiazine cream as their web site doesn't state that a prescription is needed to purchase it. They responded that they would sell it without a scrip, though I haven't tried to buy any yet.

    Re: Possible burn help

If you cannot get the sulfadine cream, use triple antibiotic ointment or Bacitracin. This will help alot if you cannot get the burn cream. Good luck!

I saw one lady in flea market using heat rock for ball python she was selling and I was going to criticize but she said it is okay and only some does get burn because of heat rock malfunction. I was like "whaaat"

    Re: Possible burn help

The poor lady was crying she said she loved her snake and just did what pet smart told her she has been researching and knows better now. She said she was told not to use a heat rock but heat pad was ok. I put beta dine to clean and sulfa dine after and introduced her to a breeder who lives closer to her for help with further treatments. She is getting her husbandry in order and I think she will be OK. Pet smart should be ashamed.

    Re: Possible burn help

I second the silver sulfadiazine cream. It's a great broad spectrum antibiotic and antifungal ointment.
Plus, as long as the wound is not infected, if at all possible you can apply a non stick gauze pad to the area after the wound has been treated.

    Its horrible and irresponsible....

That's exactly why people don't know better. People expect to be able to trust "pet experts" at a pet store, I know I use to!
