Wow I don't think I could sleep with them next to my bed. The sound of them skittering around on the cardboard makes my skin crawl lol. I keep mine safely in a spare room

My hearing sucks, i sleep through thunderstorms and stuff lol. I never have even heard them. Only time i hear them is when i open the tub and disturb them to get some out, then they all run like hell lol

More like 4 months lol. But I started with fairly small ones. Luckily it's super easy to identify the sexes. I feed off the majority of my adult males. They make the NASTIEST noise when crunched by a lizard. Definitely makes you think twice next time you open a bag of chips lol

Lmao! YeAh feel free to pm me anytime or start a thread But they're about as non-hassle as they come. I don't even use a heating pad on mine, they breed just fine.

I learned everything i know about them from personal experience and from 3skulls. If you need some just pm him and he'll hook you up with a starter colony. He breeds a lot of them.

I think that cricket shortage was one of the best things that happened in the hobby. Roaches are so much better than crickets. I've been getting Blatta lateralis for my geckos and T's and they work great. Besides no jumping or smell, they also are much hardier. I have pretty much 0% die off. I am thinking of starting a Dubia colony, though.

I definitely love dubias. I keep a whole bunch for my beardie. When I first got him, he was eating crickets. He actually didn't like those much, and I'm soo glad I made the switch. Crickets were stinky and hopped everywhere. They died very easily, as well. Dubias are hardy, non-smelly, and can't hop. Plus, they're a much better food source. Win-win! Lol

I love dubias. My question - can you tell the sex before they are adults? Some of them are more long and narrow and others are more wide. Does that have anything to do with it or is that just individual variation?
