    Empty Tank Suggestions

So we finally got rid of our giant pacu and jack dempseys, and have an empty 100 gallon tank. My mother in law was thinking of getting a turtle to fill the void Any suggestions for beginners? All input is appreciated!!

No really... easiest is the Red Ear Slider... most interesting to watch... Mississippi Maps and I absolutely adore my Diamondback Terrapin.

I have RES, yellow belly slider, Mississippi maps, diamondback terrapin, Rio grande sliders, spiny softshell, leapord softshell, Florida softshell, African serrated side neck and last but not least our baby Florida snapper

Let me know if ya need any help

Awesome, thank you!! She's a bit concerned about husbandry, so she may just stick with fish. I think she's more in love with the idea of a turtle lol.

Turtles are definitely dirtier (waste wise) than fish. An extremely good filter is needed... aside from that a uvb bulb and basking light, a dock for them to get out of the water under the basking light. If young a heater will also be needed

    Empty Tank Suggestions

Yeah she decided to stick with fish. It's what she knows. Although she did end up getting two dwarf frogs as a compromise lol. Thanks for the input though!

This thread made me go from uber excited to sad.

Good luck with the frogs and whatever fish are next.

That tank is also long/large enough for a nice small tortoise/frog/lizard terrarium or a larger snake. Just sayin'.

    Re: Empty Tank Suggestions

Here's some pics to take away the sting:
Old pacu, don't mind the dirty tank. It was just before cleaning day. Those fishies are NASTY!

About 2 feet long, give or take.

    New, beautiful tank

    Little clown pleco!
