Brandon, I aspire to arboreals myself. They are beautiful snakes, but their care requirements are more complicated than those for ball pythons. I'm not sure if anyone on here is actually keeping tree boas at the moment. If anyone is, I hope they'll chime in here.

I was considering getting one, but I think Im going to go with a JCP. I want to study some more before I move to aboreals... Smynx is right, they are whole different story then your ground dwelling herps...

i wasnt thinking about getting one either. my friend waas asking me a bunch of questions about them but i didnt know so i asked. i like to handle snakes and i hear that u cant handle them like a ball,burm or red tail.so tree boas are not on my list of animals i want, but i still think they are one of the most attractive and intresting snakes

As a general rule is it best for most arboreal snakes not to be handled much .. simply because there is a great deal of stress involved in handeling and removeing them from their perch
As far as a cage set up . I beleive a a longer than tall set up is better it gives you room for a larger temperature gradient and allows the animal to choose in my experience and experimentation with different arboreal cages and setups the snake will more than likely choose top perch over prefered temps in the long run this can and will induce stress on the animals
as far as size of a tree boa that highly depends on the species of tree boa and its gender basin emerald females can get quite large up to 7 or so feet and as thick as a mans forearm whereas amazon tree boas can be almost as long but much thinner bodied

I guess I'm slow b/c I didn't see this thread until today....in any case, just wanted to let you know not to worry about ANY question you may have.....NEVER feel as though you can't ask a question. A lot of what I learned was from the people here taking the time to answer my questions, some q's I felt were dumb, but no one ever made me feel like I was dumb for asking.....besides, I think we all learn from others questions....glad you're here contributing to the forum!
