one of my friends has a california king snake and i asked him if he fed frozen or live and he said he feeds it frozen,live,and fresh killed.....is that good for a snake ? i think it would be confusing for it . does anybody else do that ?

No, I don't think so. Feeding f/t is really the only way to go.

That's because he's got a king - they'll eat anything anytime. Not likely you could do that with a Ball Python.
