I sealed up the hole where the drain used to go in this tub and let it cure for several days. I had intended to also use this 3 tiered waterfall preformed pond thing but it ended up taking up more space than I wanted so I didn't bother using it. I also set up a filter to go with it since I hate changing the water constantly. The filter box is a bit of an eye sore but it works perfect so for now I don't mind. I wanted to be able to access it easily for cleaning so I put it right at the front. What I'm thinking is that I will end up covering the filter box with rocks to make it stand out less.

She christened it before I had even finished setting up the filter. Hopefully the filter will do its job and I will only have to do minimal maintenance.

Very cool! That's a great enclosure. I would have done the same with the water filtration system.

I had forgotten how fast this grass grows initially. The only area without grass is under the light which was fully expected. It just dries out far too quickly there. Every other spot the grass is coming in thick. I also got a couple dozen goldfish to toss in with my turtles so I threw 3 of them in the monitors little pond to see if they will live. Aside from the sand in the bottom of the pond it is extremely clear now also.

Some pictures from a few days ago. The grass is looking great. I need to get in there and clean the glass soon because it is nearly impossible to see through with all the fog now. The lower section also has a bunch of dirt on it from Nessie scratching all along it trying to get out when it's closed.

That is a hell of an elaborate setup man. Very very nice.

Also I don't miss my dubia colony at all. Those things can stink up quick.

Dubias smelling...? Mine don't smell at all. I sleep with the tub like 3 feet away from my bed. Maybe you're thinking of something else?

Thats a really nice looking setup.

NO, I just have a really good sense of smell, lol. Even when I got some shipped to me they had about 200 total and the smell was awful. What's even more awful is when one died and I didn't realize it, whew.

Really? I won't say mine smell "good", but i'd say they have like an earthy smell to them. Definitely not bad. Although, I work in a nursing home, so my definition of bad is probably a bit skewed lol.
