    My Sav

I hadn't bothered to post my sav on this site yet because there doesn't seem to be many active monitor keepers but I did pretty much a complete overhaul including adding 2 feet of height making the enclosure 8x4x6 so I figured it was as good a time as any to post. Her diet is rodent centered which would be an issue in most under heated under sized enclosures but mine is neither of those things. She is very active and tame as can be. She always wants to climb right out when I open the enclosure and has no fear at all. When food is involved she is just as fast as she can possibly be and not sluggish in the least. She also gets Dubia and Earth Worms as well as some fish. The basking spot is about 145 surface temp. Normally it has 3x 75 watt Halogen floods but 1 burnt out and I don't really need the 3rd right now since she is only around 28 inches ToL weighing just over 3 pounds. I use the 75 watt bulbs because 50 watts need to be much closer to get the same temperature and my enclosure is well sealed so the humidity is just fine. I also have a 4 foot 2 bulb fluorescent fixture for general lighting. The substrate is 20 inches on the warm side down to about 12 inches on the cold side of top soil, sand, and clay mixed together and tamped down by standing on it. Her current water tub isn't very big but it is sufficient for her to use which she does daily. I tried a large 100+ gallon pond yesterday and unfortunately it turns out that she is an awful swimmer and it was dangerous to leave the deep water in so I removed it.

There's no more information that I can think of to add so I'll end with these pictures.

Here's how my Dubia colony is going on cleaning day. 120 adult females 100 adult males (50 are being fed off) and about 1 million nymphs of varying sizes.

    Posing.

    Falling gracefully.

    The new layout.

It looks like a jungle in there.

It's glass. Anything else would end up being all scratched up.
