I forgot to add that every time you clean out the cage, or go near the babies, wear rubber gloves! If the mice have not been handled regularly and become accustomed to you, they will eat the babies if your scent gets on them. I have had this happen before, though after I had switched to colonies where I reared all the female breeders personally it stopped. I was never eager to test the theory with pinks though.

I've seperated the coloney down to 2 to 3 animals per cage last weekend and culled out the ones that ate the babies. (they are now snake poop). I had three females give birth today. I was going to clean the cages, but will have to wait a few days now. Keeping my fingers crossed that these don't eat their young.

Rats are so much easier. Unfortunately, I have two baby snakes that will only eat mice fuzzies. I have one nest of fuzzies, but they won't be fuzzies for long.
