Ya know I remember seeing a 2 headed king snake at the zoo when I was little. Pretty cool. I bet it doesnt happen too often...

Do I absolutely NEED an incandescent basking light?
As for being put off by a troll's thread, never. I still want a BP very badly. But I would feel much much more confident in my ability to care for a BP if I can prove myself with a lower maintenence snake like a corn or king.

You do not need any UV lighting for corn snakes. They do however need 12 hours light 12 hours dark. So I would recommend getting a light.

Right now I'm looking through Eastbayvivarium.com listing of corn snakes and king snakes. I kinda like the snow cause its pretty much all white. And I kinda like the ghost one too.
But the king snakes, the only one I seem to be interested in is the Mexican Black Kingsnake and the Desert Striped.
Anyone have good websites with kingsnake morphs?

Well, I say incandescent because fluorescent lights don't put out much heat and since they don't need uv lighting a simple incandescent bulb can handle both your heating and photoperiod requirements.
~40 Ball Pythons (mostly Freeway/Asphalt, Bongo, GHI, and Leopard combos)

Oh ok I gotcha ^_^
I already have a UTH providing heat.
I'm assuming I need to have a cold and hot side just like BP's? Its a snake thing not a BP thing correct? Has to do with them not being able to self regulate their internal temps?

Yep. There's just more leeway with a corn snake, since their habitat includes temperate climates (as far north as Maryland and southern New Jersey).

hhw have you seen my setup pictures in the BP husbandry section? I'm assuming that is going to be way too big for a baby cornsnake >_<
I heard Corns go from 2.5-4ft in length? How big are they as babies?
Same with Kingsnakes? Same lengths?
