Ok...So I was browsing CL 3 weeks ago and came across a very large ad for a significant # of snakes (lets say 100 for a round #). There were several (about 10) I was interested in and I contacted the person and agreed to meet them after work (about 10 pm) about 2.25 hrs south of me.
I ended up buying 3 snakes for 100 each as they were all proven breeders (2 female dinkers and a male cinnamon)(the male looks like a normal to me). The seller and myself spent about 20-30 minutes just chatting about snakes and general topics. All seemed well.
Fast forward...the 2nd day I had the new snakes...1 exhibited signs of RI...straight to the vet that following monday (2days after symptoms were noticed). RI was confirmed and snakie is now on 1 month course of double antibiotics...so 195$ for vet visit and antibiotics plus $100 for snake ($$ isnt the issue). I contacted the seller the evening of the first vet visit and gave them a heads up (as a polite warning..since they had about 10 snakes all in close proximity to each other in the car the night I bought 3 of them...with several all sharing "Travel Bins"). I also requested that any records the seller posses on the 3 be sent to me via email or snail mail. The seller agreed and thanked me for the heads up about the RI.
It has now been 2+weeks since seller agreed to send me whatever records they had (self admittedly to not being "big on record keeping")...as a side note....this person is on BP.net and advertising a large portion of the snakes on the original CL post... They still have not sent any records of any sort to me.
I need advice on next course of action...I still want w/e records this person has on the 3 I purchased...Part of me feels like warning whoever else buys from this person...(correct me if I am wrong but an RI doesnt just pop up out of nowhere 2 days after being placed into QT (with 50% humidity and 90 hotspot 78 ambient...on paper-towels with fresh water every 2 days).
Any advice on the situation/my nxt step (if any) would be appreciated...
