Any suggestions how to increase humidity

Here's what my tank looks like

I was thinking of buying a large piece of plexiglas and balance it on the lip on the inside of the tank underneath the mesh lid, I recall seeing some people suggest that to increase humidity.

I put all the papers and small piece of plexiglas to cover the opening to see if it would help a little before buying the large piece. It didn't really help so I wanted to ask you guys if you have any suggestions or if getting the plexiglas would work.

With a screened top I like to use a clean damp cloth rag to cover one half of the enclosure. It worked wonders for me!

I'll be perfectly honest, I would love to not have to do that...I am pretty lazy haha.

BUT if that's what it takes then that's what I'll have to do.

Lol well I only used to wet mine once a day and held pretty well all day.

I would switch substrates to Eco-Earth and possibly a bigger water dish.

I second the substrate switch but would recommend cypress mulch. It does stick to the snake like eco earth and does not become dusty.

I Do really like eco earth, just not for my bp. Usually when I use it I mix it with repti bark for a different consistency that I prefer.

You can also create humid hides by putting some damp moss in each one. I will must the moss every few days when not in shed and keep it damp during a shed. That with the cypress mulch gives my bp in a glass tank perfect shed. I will still mist the tank every once in awhile but not several times a day like before.

Bigger water bowl with about 7-10 paper towels balled up in it. The snake can still drink from the bowl, and it greatly increases the amount of surface area of the water itself letting more moisture into the air. This is what I do when I need to bump up humidity in shedding time.

I use cypress mulch, keep my screen top covered up except for the lamp and spray once a day. humidity stays 60.

1. Larger water dish on the hot side of the tank
2. Cypress mulch or coco husk substrate
3. Damp towel, tin foil, or plexiglass cover top
4. Ditch the heat lamp. Heat lamps destroy humidity by drying the enclosure out.
5. Or scratch everything above and make a humid hide (damp moss or paper towel in a Tupperware container with a hole. The humid hide acts like a micro climate where the snake can choose to go in or not when it needs humidity without having to fuss with the entire enclosure)

the tinfoil over the top of the top really helps me keep the humidity up, may work for you
