    Snake positions

I was wondering how much you guys think about the position your snake is is photos. I was browsin WOBP and noticed...

I really don't like this pose-

But I love the curvy "s"ed up positions, I guess it gives more shape.

Do you pro photographers position your snakes certain ways to flatter the pattern etc?

I usually don't have much luck trying to position them. One trick that does work okay is to let them crawl into a hide that you have sitting where you will take the pic. Let them get comfy and then pull off the hide and they're usually in a decent position for pic...

My method is to take about 5000 pictures and I'll eventually get a good one...and babies are sooo much easier to take pics of than adults...

I like that pic so much I did a painting of it...

    Lucifer Sam, Siam cat...
    Always sitting by your side,
    Always by your side...
    That cat's something I can't explain...

    I love this pose:

The photo was taken by Brian Kelley, but that's my snake .

I like it when they're balled up but they show their cute faces!

I've caught the spiral once in a photo. I kind of liked it:

    Re: Snake positions

I love getting close up shots. I don't have the best camera, but I love getting pics of their faces.

This is our Tiger, I love how her eyes turned out in this shot.

    Re: Snake positions

Posing a snake? What's that... Yeah, mine do as they please. I just take a million pictures as they go, and keep the good ones. I don't have a "favorite" pose. Just depends on each picture. I have favorite pictures of each snake.
If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies.

That's what I do. Insert hide, let them crawl in, remove hide, and rapid fire with the camera.

I don't think I have a favorite pose. My favorite pose changes from subject to subject and tends to be the one where they stay still for two seconds and let me center them in the photo.

Some of my favorite photos include (Don't mind the names, I was bored this morning. ):

"The Stare": He's looking right at me.

"The Soft Serve Ice Cream Stack": Body stacked on itself like ice cream.

"I will eat you": The title says it all.

"Compression": She folded herself into a compact form while still showing off her pattern.

Anything with a solid tongue flick

    Tim
