    A few questions PLEASE HELP

I recently had to move my rankins dragons (just like bearded, but smaller) enclosure under my ball python enclosure. The heat from the rankins dragons light is warming up my ball pythons enclosure from underneath. Right now the temps are 80 on the cool side and 92 on the warm side. I had a UTH on but took it off because i dont have a thermostat yet and didnt want it to get too hot. Im wondering if i can keep it like this permanently w/o the UTH or to the need that for digestion? If i do need a thermostat of some kind what do you suggest and will a light dimmer from home depot or somewhere work? Even with the thermostat will it be too hot because its already 92?

I'm also wondering if i could use a old uvb for lighting because even a low wattage bulb is making a 5 degree difference. Old uvb meaning its been used for 6 months already. Will too much uvb hurt my snake? And will the coil uvb cause eye problems?

Any input will help thank you

The 80 degrees is the temp on the mounted thermometer so i guess thats ambient temp? The 92 degrees is from a digital thermometer and temp gun so i believe thats surface temp... Does that sound right?

    Yes.

It can stay the way you have them but you need to be very sure that it will always remain stable. In the summer if the room gets warmer it could very easily make your snakes cage to warm.

I think I personally would not chance it. I would try to stop the heat from passing to the snake cage or move one of them.
