More news on the infamous CORN PYTHON!!

Breaking news! I got word from a customer that cornsnakes actually MORPH into the corn python!! Only kidding... I just had to post this tho.. (true story) A customer comes into the shop and asks to see one of the cornsnakes we have. While we are discussing how friendly he is, the customer asks how big itll get. I tell him, and then he looks over at the baby BP we have, and says, they get as big as that guy, right? Cornsnakes turn into pythons, right? In my mind, Im .. trying to imagine a juvenile corn making his little "snakeskin" cocoon, and emerging as.....THE CORN PYTHON!! Alas, I had to inform the customer in a very friendly and understanding way that cornsnakes are CORNSNAKES and ball pythons are BALL PYTHONS....and that the two are distinctly different species. Alas, I shall now go search for some rabbits and canned yams....

I've heard of red tail ball python at my work.

And a lady who said she bred ball pythons and was hell bent on telling me that a pastel to a normal makes a bumblebee. I had to use every ounce of self control I had.. Lol

Re: More news on the infamous CORN PYTHON!!

I think this person may have been unclear in speaking and asking comparatively if it would get as big as the ball.
In which case, they were still off with the corm likely ending up longer but thinner and lower mass.
But, ballpark to a rookie it is still kinda close, not like comparing an African House Snake and a Burmese.

No. He specifically said he thought cornsnakes were baby pythons, after I told him the scoop on the two different species.

I was talking about snakes to someone at a get together today and a third guy came by and said his buddy had a 8+ foot ball python that lived in a 12 foot cage and got really aggressive when eating. I tried naming off other large snakes, but he insisted it was a ball.

    Oh, wow.
    I stand corrected.
I honestly thought it would just be someone having trouble conveying their comparison.

Well if you find and shape-shifting corns, could you mail me some that turn into carpets pythons or maybe false water cobras?
