    Mastigoproctus giganteus mating

The male grabs her females first pair of legs (the antennae looking pair) and holds them in his chelicerae

He held her like this for a few hours while they walked around the breeding cage.
He then flipped around and they began walking in tandem.

The next morning they were like this (sorry about the smudge on the lens)

I'm thinking the pairing was a success, but this is my first attempt with whipscorpions so I have no idea what to expect.

My female was never even that fat when she was gravid. (Is gravid the term with bugs? knocked up?) She was close to it, but not quite that wide. I've also seen your whipscorp and mine is nowhere NEAR that size. I don't even want to know what your feeding bills look like.... -lol-

Awesome. Always nice to catch them mating.

I used to breed scorpions and import them on a large scale. I at one time had about 400 of them. Mostly Androctonus and Tityus species.
