    New Additions!

Here are a couple I just got the other day. Can you tell what they are and which is which? It took me awhile and a bunch of comparison pics of others, but I am sure I have them right now.

The real question is whether or not I will be able to distinguish between the offspring when the time comes to pairing them.

Looks like a Fire on top and a Vanilla on bottom?

From what I've seen, Fires tend to mess up and mottle the pattern much more than Vanillas. And Vanillas tend to keep a classic pattern with a lot of striping. Obviously not the case for all, just my observations.

Look at the head. That's the easiest way to tell them apart. Fires have a tell tale "V" shaped head mark. Usually vanillas have a head mark too but it's different than fires. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.

That was pretty much the same conclusion that I finally figured out, minus the exceptions.

I did not really notice the "V" on the fire until you mentioned it. I always just saw head blushing, and what I have noticed from the pics I have seen that the vanillas tend to have more blushing. I am now wondering if that "V" holds true for the majority. That may help too in the future... as long as I can remember that "V" stands for NOT vanilla.
