I could be totally wrong here, but I thought you were supposed to put the female into the male's tank...? Or does it matter? Good luck - been keeping up with this thread! Super exciting!

I'm not quite sure, I think I read somewhere that putting her in his tank can be worse because he is territorial.

Ideally you are supposed to put them in a 3rd tank at the same time so they don't feel like someone is "in their territory". I don't have a 3rd tank so I put him in hers so hopefully she feels more comfortable. She knows the hiding spots in there as well and he can't find her when she hides lol.

Bettafish.com is a good forum to go to. The people there are nice and helpful, like on here

It's kinda funny I was thinking of posting my betta and tank on here earlier but didn't do it haha

Anyways, good luck with getting babies! I don't think I'll ever breed them. Too many kids! Lol

    Re: Betta too fat?

Well my male is just sitting under his bubble nest, so I assume they did the deed while I wasn't looking.

So I just separated them and hopefully I will see some babies in 48 hours!

    Fingers crossed!

Maybe its time? I've put her with him a couple times and he gets super aggressive... I know its normal, but its gets to where she just hides when he is around. Almost too rough for her.
    Should I try again?

Oh and P.S. I always wondered why my female Betta would always 'commit suicide' when I put them together.... now I feel bad. But... now I know! (Not like I plan to breed though at this point, anyway....)

Do you think since he is watching the nest there is eggs in it?

    BTW both are half moons.
They HATE pictures but I tried to get some of the male. He is blue/red/purple. His blue has kinda taken over though.
