Betta too fat?
Throw in a male Betta if you want fries ^_~. Her tummy is full of eggs.

Looks like she's loaded with eggs and ready to spawn.

Re: Betta too fat?
I have a male betta next to her and he has a good size bubble nest!
Maybe its time? I've put her with him a couple times and he gets super aggressive... I know its normal, but its gets to where she just hides when he is around. Almost too rough for her.
Should I try again?

Make sure she's got plenty of hiding spots in his tank, and take her out immediately after they're finished. It can get pretty rough, but supervise and don't hesitate to remove her if he's getting too aggressive.

Her breeding tube (pearl) has been out for like 6 weeks.
If you separate them after 10-20 eggs then you will have a manageable spawn.

well stick em together then if you want some babies! lol I was always tempted to try and breed them but the number of babies always made me think otherwise.. even though I did breed african cichlids and they had quite a few fry..

Yep, that's a great method of betta birth control. Another good thing to have around are hungry oscars.

Re: Betta too fat?
So I put the male in the females tank and ham been checking on them for the past 7 hours. He has built his bubble nest but I have yet to see a "lock" or egg drops. How long should this take? Do you think they already locked and dropped eggs and I missed it? She is still super fat...
