    Paleo diet success or not?

So me and my boyfriend started this diet with our coworkers. For the whole month of February we had a wonderful time seeing how much we could lose just focusing on eating healthy and kicking out all the starch in our food. (No dairy, potatoes, rice and no butter mainly) well we weighed ourselves on February 1. I don't know if my boyfriend wants his weight disclosed to the public. But my weight was 195. I officially take my weight march 1. But I wanted to know lol. So I weighed in at 183 . I'm excited to find that I feel great and that I do feel like I lost weight. But even better that I actually did lose weight XD.

My father went on the Primal Diet witch is very close to the Paleo and has lost 85 lbs and, more importantly, has kept it off. My mom hasn't had that much luck but that probably has something to do with always being the one to fix all the meals. Easy to diet when someone does all the work for you!

One of my friends went on it and swears by it. She went on a strict exercise routine and in just over a year is down by 80.

My husband and I did a paleo-style diet for 2 months. It was paleo+dairy. No grains, lots of meat and fresh veggies and cooked with lard, coconut oil (no veg oil) etc. We found a nice local source for raw milk and butter, and we absolutely loved it. We lost weight, felt better, and never had that "crash" feeling after eating. We want to go back on it, pretty much as soon as we can afford it. We did the whole grass-fed beef thing etc, so it got expensive quick.

Once we both get back on the horse employment wise, we'll definitely be going back to it. I miss feeling great every day!

Re: Paleo diet success or not?

I went on the paleo diet strictly last year because I wanted to be able to do a human flag. I went from 230 to 155 in 7 months I'm 5' 11 so 155 was a bit underweight now I'm at a healthy 170 able to hold a flag for 7 seconds, i could not belive how well it worked. I still try and go by it but I'm not as strict. Stick it out and you'll have great results I recommend it to anyone trying to lose weight.

    Paleo diet success or not?

Not a fan of paleo, yes it's the cult diet of the crossfitters. It's fine if you want to eat like a caveman for personal reasons, but if your simply doing it to lose weight it's just not fun. It's drastically limits what you can eat, when losing weight is simple as nailing down your calories/macro's. that can be done still eating normal food.

    Here's a diet:

Eat and live a lifestyle of a healthy person and sit back and watch your body transform.

Source: 210 to 170 in the last 6 months and more importantly - it's sustainable and comfortable.

The second you label your eating choices, times, and quantities a 'diet' you guarantee yourself that you'll be OFF it at some point. That's a poor attitude to go into a lifestyle change with.

I made the lifestyle change last year. Lost just over fifty pounds so far and am loving life again. I get out of bed feeling great.
