Safe to use dollar store plants?

The fake plants you buy at dollar stores and such, can they be used in a snake cage is disinfected first with hot water? Just every once in a while i see a fake plant that i think would look nice/ my snake would like to hide in.

That's what I have in with my boas.

I clean them with F10 first.

If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies.

Yep, I use that as well. Just make sure there are no loops that your ball can go through.

Yeah I have used them. Sometimes Michaels has a nice selection. I have bought 'broken' ones at a discount there too.

Re: Safe to use dollar store plants?

Just about any plants that don't give off that plasticky smell are good to use. I prefer to go to Hobby Lobby and find their "flowering blushes" on sale at 50%. I got one bush, cut it apart, and wired it back together into 9 different vines and trees for 3 terrariums. Not bad eh?

I use two criteria when selecting plants , as mentioned , no strong smells, the second is rub test. I rub between my fingers quite firmly no pigment or wire should come off or loose.
