I have a 125gal fish tank which houses my West African Mud turtle. While cleaning it the other day I notice some of the silicone "unthreading" on the inside the tank along the bottom. There are currently no leaks and assume this is because nothing has come apart and any external sealant/glue/framing is keeping it together. The tank is maybe 6 years old.
I guess I'm just asking for thoughts on the situation and if anyone has resealed a tank before. What silicone did you use? I guess the best way to really do it using a caulk gun type tube and gun for a large tank as this is. I know home depot/lowe's has products that are usable on fish tanks.
Obviously before going about using silicone, I would make sure the tank is dried out for a few days, everything is removed, proper ventilation etc etc.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
