Dehyrated and having trouble shedding
I recently bought a female ball python off Craigslist, little did I know she had a respiratory infection, dehydrated and she won't eat.. She's on antibiotics and feeding tube, the vet told me to soak her in pedis lite to re-hydrate her, the only kind I could find was orange or grape flavored and now her scales are tinted orange, the dye and flavor isn't a problem, right? She's just bright bright orange esp underneath.. It just looks funny.

It'll come off when she sheds. That was actually a ploy used years ago on either ball pythons or Savannah monitors, maybe both. They were soaked in gatorade and sold as some weird never before seen colour.
Just keep up the soaks and keep it warm. Pictures would also be helpful. The snake and the set up.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

Next time at the store, take a look around the baby section. They do have a clear, unflavored bottle.
Good luck with getting her better.

Re: Dehyrated and having trouble shedding
Thanks, yeah I just got her and I have to shove all this stuff down her throat, but she'll realize she's feeling better and love me. Ha.. She already gained almost a quarter of her body weight.. She looked really bad when I got her, just happy I'm saving her little life!!
