Well my 02' male Monty shed last night, it was real nice too cept for the tail. So I soak him to loosen the skin and start easing it off. I'm extremely careful around the spurs because I've seen that area bleed slightly after sheds in my female Goldy. So the shed it comming off the spur and pop, the entire thing came off. Inside the little indent for spurs I can see a little on there, I've never seen something like this. The other spur is fine, and there was only minor bleeding, very very little.

Is this normal, this is definitely a first for me. I'm just wondering if it's typical for spurs to come off and regrow like a deer's antlers. His spurs were gettin huge too.

This has bewildered me, never have I seen this.

    Holy crap!

Atreyu lost one about 6 months ago. Its growing back, albeit slowly. I posted about it on that other forum, and those who resopnded said 'Oh I'm SURE he didnt lose the spur, just the covering." *shakes head*

But he will be ok. Take it from Atreyu.
