    Belly vs basking heat

Who prefers what? I'm sure more will lean toward the uth but I have noticed my girl seems to prefer to be on top of her hot hide rather then in side it except for the first 12--24 hours after a meal..

80 cold 88 hot with herpstat set at 95.5 and accurite reading 93 under the 1/2" of aspen.. IR reads 89-92 on top of it in the hide.. Yet I find her doing this lately

She seems to prefer the cold side like 80% of the time yet when she eats she's in the warm hide and I've seen her basking at night and was hanging out on the hide tonight again.. Only about 1/2" between her and the plastic lid

Maybe the hide itself is retaining some heat from the ceramic heat bulb and she doesn't want. To be all balled up?

Maybe she prefers cooler temps. Our guy starts pacing his tank when his belly heat temps start approaching 90. He is happiest around 88.
