Het markers
I don't know if this is the right place to post this. I'm pretty new at this and keep hearing about markers for this morph and that. Can someone educate me on the different markers for morphs.

Re: Het markers
Hi,
Bottom line? If the markers were accurate guides to the presence of the gene the morph would be called co-dominant not recessive.

There are some recessive het genes that do visually express themselves.
Take the pewter het pied for example. The het pied gene washes out the snake. That pewter het pied with a regular pewter look completely different side by side.
Another example would be het. clowns. The het clown gene tends to brighten and clean up the morph. Of course, this is not always the case, but I would say usually.
And the markings of het clowns tend to look a little different too sometimes (larger eye spots in the alien head for example).

Here is a Pewter 66% het pied that I'm hoping will prove out! I should find out this season. She has been locking with my pastel het pied male.
