AP T8 won't hold humidity

Title says it all, ever since I added an RHP to keep the ambient temp up the humidity gets too low. I am using corrugated wrap as a substrate, have a pretty large water bowl that I put on the hot side to try to get some water to evaporate into the air. Short of the covering the air vents on the hot side of the cage (which is probably bad) I'm not sure what to do.

I would like to avoid setting up a fogger on a timer, but that's really all I can think of. A humid hide wouldn't work well on cardboard.

Any ideas?

Not sure about the rest but RHP are not a good way to increase ambient temps, good luck with your humidity! Everybody else swears by the AP cages though so hopefully they will chime in soon.

Odd, I have managed to bump up the ambient about 7 degrees in the whole cage since installing it....

When I first got my T8 I also used corrugated wrap and had difficulties with humidity. I switched Eco earth and have two RHP's in my T8, no more humidity issues.

With AP cages there is literally nowhere for the humidity to go, it's trapped inside the cage. (except when you open the doors or have screens cut into the sides/top) If you live in an especially dry area you might have to mist the cage every few days or so to maintain the humidity.

That's what I don't get. Any time that I open the cage I mist it before closing. But I am having to mist multiple times daily just to stay at 50%. The cage is normally opened twice a day, both times to mist, that's it. I just don't get it. The only openings are the the angled slits on the back and side corners. No screen or anything. It was perfect before the RHP, but too cold. The room isn't even high air flow so it's not like a breeze is blowing through the slits and sucking out the humidity...

Rhps don't heat air directly. They heat objects that in turn heat the air. The heavier and darker the color the object is the warmer it will be. The kicker is the things that heat air directly, lamps, Che or forced air home heating drop humidity. You simply cannot have one with out the other. Rhps usually don't alter humidity much as they typically don't change ambient a much. The increase you have from the rhp heating cage furniture is also why you have a drop in rh. I have a white enclosure with light blue hides I can only get a couple of degrees of ambient temp increase but I also have not had any drop in rh.

Try using cypress or eco earth or a combo...
