    Why is he doing this?

I had two of my snakes out last night an decided to take some pics. As i was doing so my mojave started to "stand up" and stayed like that for about a minute. Just wanted to know what he was doing or what it means.

It's called periscoping and they do it when they feel like being extra cute!

He's fine. snakes are just weird like that.

When you're that low to the ground, you gotta get up higher to check things out. He was just scoping (see what I did there) out his surroundings

Never thought of that. Could he want a taller tub? Out of the 3 he is the most active. He is the one i catch moving around the most.

Curiosity is supposed to be a sign of intelligence. Maybe he's the smart one of the group.

    Why is he doing this?

They do it when they become confused as too what kind of snake they really are. He just thought he was a Cobra for a minute
