Normal? Not a Normal? Input please :)
Hey guys, once again I am looking at some snakes... lol I am kinda sorta kinda interested in picking up these two, a father daughter pair. The dad is CH and he is the one that I am mostly puzzled over, because he doesn't look quite 'normal'....? Any input from you guys would be greatly appreciated. I am kind of interested in trying to dink with them, but then I don't want to waste my time, $$, and resources if I'm just seeing something that really isn't there.
This is the dad - I'm looking at the really dark colors and richness of him, and all the granite-like stuff going on....?
This is the dad and the daughter together....
And this shows the daughter's belly...
Soooo what do you guys' trained eyes think? I can get the pair for $375 shipped.........

What are they being sold as?
The male looks like it could be a granite but the female looks normal.

They are being sold as normal but unknown, like a dinker project. The male is a CH... Obviously I'd have to breed the daughter back to her dad to see if anything happens.... The daughter is a virgin, they hadn't gotten around to breeding her back to dad.... My question is, to the 'pros' on here, does it look like anything or just a couple of normals and would I be having a good chance of wasting my time...?

Only way to know if you'd be wasting your time is if you actually spend that time. If you like it, and the price isn't an exorbitant amount, I'd say it's definitely worth playing around with. I have a captive hatched male(somewhat similar looking) that proved to be genetic this past year. You could have a normal there, could be "just" a granite, could be something else entirely.

Male Is definitely Granite.. at least Granite-ish looking...If Price is right I'll Snatch them and just for Control Breed male to different female..
You need to remember that with dominant genes there is 50/50 chance for every egg... so is still possible breeding for example pastel to normal to get 7 normals from 7 eggs...
As Granite goes.. there are dominant line and incomplete dominant.. I never heard or recessive Granite line but.. everything is possible... some Granite looking animals are not genetic at all.. they just look granite...
Anyway.. male is really nice looking and in my opinion dinker worthy...

Thank you for this They held back (I believe) all three females and one male from his clutch and they all appear at least mostly normal, to me. They all have less speckling in their aliens. But what you say about the chance of all normal offspring is still feasible. This is a tough decision to scoop them up or not... I'm going to blame that on my newbie-ness....

I would snatch them up and put him to several girls then if you prove him out you make your money back then some so the money shouldn't stop you, it should be whether or not you like them.
