    GTP or ETB?

Just as the title says I am looking into a new project and I was looking at either a Green Tree Python project or a Emerald Tree Boa project. I have the money to buy a 1.1 pair of either one and the cages and misting systems and everything else to care for them. So which would you choose? Please try to include a reason why you choose that animal

Neither. I think the heads and colors on ATB's are the coolest.

I prefer Emerald Tree Boas, due to their larger size and stunning colors/pattern. I would get an Amazon Basin ETB (and plan on doing so when I have room for more cages) but getting captive bred ETBs costs far more than it does with GTP's.

I would go with GTPs... but maybe thats cause I have two of them

I have a sorong locality and a designer morph (not sure on the locality cross). Both are very cool and beautiful to look at. I can even handle my adult male!

I would be too scared to have an ETB. Have you seen the teeth on those suckers? Not something I want to mess with! Plus, I love the crazy GTP coloration.

Mike has a good point with ATBs though. I have two and I enjoy them very much! Very cool animal! Much different than a gtp or etb.

Thanks for all the replies so far! I know the ETBs have really big teeth and I don't think that's bad. I actually like that! Maybe I could do a hybrid project with a 1.1 pair of ETBs and a .1 amazon tree boa?

I seriously doubt that it would be successful. It is hard enough to get ETB's to breed with each other. Let along the massive genetic differences between ATB's and ETB's as they are in different genus

I remember I saw a picture of them somewhere. They were really cool looking!

    An ATB x ETB hybrid?

    *EDIT*

Interesting a google search seems to show that it is possible for the 2 to produce offspring. I wouldn't jump right into a project like that but I guess it could be something to shoot for down the road. I would breed ETB's with each other a few years before even attempting to produce hybrids with them.

On a side note I can't even imagine the temper an ATB x ETB hybrid would have lol.

Yeah I think I'm probably get the ETBs and breed them for a few years then try the hybrids
