Females produce eggs. Everyone wants more females than males in a collection if you plan to breed. 1 male can be breed to 3+ fenland every season. And since people hold back more females thAn males there is a greater demand for females which increases the prices.

Not all females are worth more. The higher end stuff like coral glows and bananas fetch more money for males because you get a return on your money faster (cause males breed sooner).

This. I've seen some breeders think of this with both co-com combos and recessive stuff. Chad Hulker for example is selling his pastel sugar males $500 more than the females.

Supply and demand

People want multiple females per male in their collections.
Typically as soon as the male morph drops in value the female raises in value.

A pastel sugar male as a baby might be more than a female but when the female reaches 2000 grams she's worth triple what the male was originally.

In general males start out being worth more and females end up being worth more.
