    handling baby mice

My female mouse gave me a nice litter of 10 to 12 babies. They will be a week old on Saturday. When and if is it ok to start handling her babies? I noticed mom gets very stressed out when I have to go into her enclosure just to give her fresh water, food and when I spot clean. Will trying to handle the babies cause her more undue stress?

You can handle them now if you want. I've always shuffled through newborns to see if they're all healthy and for a head count.
Handling will probably stress out mom, but they get used to it.
Handling for longer periods of time other than the general check up is probably good when their eyes start opening.
