The two most recent female rescues are doing great. were treated for a few minor issues, but all in all doing well.
Here is a bad facial picture of one of the girls:

How is it that leopard geckos get rescued, generally? Seized from pet shops for mistreatment or surrendered voluntarily by an owner who isn't prepared to pay for vet care or what?

I find it hard to imagine a situation where someone suddenly couldn't afford to care for or didn't have the space for a leo. They're not exactly iguanas or burms.

That was pretty much my thought, Maarken, but I figure some people will just get rid of animals when they're tired of them or they start looking like they might cost money beyond food and setup.

Or when they get a girlfriend who doesn't like them. I really wanted to tell this kid to get a new girlfriend. sad really, you can't mess up there care without really trying, but it happens.
We have gotten alott of animals through our doors do to "new girlfriend / wife".
    Sad really

That's really a shame. Why do people do that? They do it with other animals, like dogs and cats, too. If it's an allergy situation I guess you gotta do what you gotta do, but what percent of the population has a legitimate allergy to leopard geckos? 0.001%? Geez!

    OK, ok get this one,
" My kid is bored with it, and won't take care of it anymore", (me: so you don't want it anymore?) "well I don't want to just kill it, so I need to get rid of it".
Well ok, we can take it in, and try and place it..
What I REALLY wanna say is " why don't you get rid of your kids instead,, or better yet, teach them actual responsability through good parenting., But I never do. Maybe I will someday, we'll see...lol

What cute little girls. It irritates me so that people get these beautiful reptiles, with no intention of keeping them for the long run. I told a friend about my new little gecko and she was like wow and how long will you have it and I said as long as take good care of it as long as 15-20 years if I am lucky. I just wish when somebody buys a reptile they realize how long these animals can actually last if taken care of properly. Heck it is ashame someone would just throw away a pet and not care. That mother and her son need to be slapped, oops sorry for some reason I am little aggitated thinking about it. Sorry to ramble on so much. Thank God for people like you Rusty.
