    Question Any Brachypelma vagans owners?

How are the temperaments on yours? I had always heard they were generally docile, like most Brachy species. Mostly known just for flicking hairs.

I just picked up a CBB 3" B. vagans and let me tell you, she thinks she is an OBT! I had a very interesting time transferring her to her new tub that I am pretty sure resulted in several new gray hairs in my beard. Anything that came even remotely close to her was fair game and her bites meant business.

Did I just pick me a winner or is aggression common among these guys?

I have 6 of them but they are slings. From every thing I read, you must have just got a good one :p

She might just be stressed from shipping or driving home from where ever you got her.

Give her a couple of weeks and see if she acts a little nicer.

    Oh and post some pics!

I suppose that is a definite possibility, although to be honest we have never had any issues with any of our other spiders from moving. I know it can and does happen, though. I picked her up at the Cleveland Expo from TNT Reptiles. It is an hour and a half drive. She will have her peace and quiet because neither of us handle any of our T's (Yes, I am terrified of spiders and scorpions!) and they are kept in a quiet, rarely traveled room. I am ok with her being aggressive, I will just dread maintenance and moving to new tubs, especially once she gets some size to her. My hair would have turn white as Christmas if she was full grown and attacked those tongs like that. Haha!

Sorry the pics are crap. I just took a few quick ones so she could mellow out for the night.

Haha I used to dislike spiders too.

    She looks awesome!
Hopefully she will calm down for you.
