I kept a C. aspera for a few months a while back.....rather interesting species. Mine was CBB and a great eater on f/t rodents so I had a rare specimen, lol. They are rather nippy even if CBB and have one of the fastest strikes I've ever seen on a snake. 98% of the ones in the hobby are WC and are loaded with parasites.....most are not rodent feeders either, in the wild they eat frogs and lizards mainly. If you can find a decent animal for a decent price they make interesting captives....but they are not without their drawbacks.

The specimen in the pic was deffinately prettier in coloration than the average! I've kept an eye on these things at shows. They tend to get darker as they get older, like many snakes do. The thing that I find most interesting about them is the shape of their head, and their stockiness! I love stocky snakes!
