After reading a lot of peoples experiences it seems to me the longer you remain a snake keeper, the more likely you will be bit regardless of how sweet your little angel is. The reason however will usualy be due to human error (like I put my hand in Plisskens face and scared the hell outa him). And obviously that ratio of nips and kisses gos up if you decide to have more than one. Any way may all you uninitiated be bitten and bitten soon, and as for Raj that petco bite doesnt count,may your little sweety latch on to you like a pit bull on steroids.

Don't hold your breath on that one Beagles :lol: It may only happen if my hand smells like sweet gerbil or something. But in the mean time, my Tarantula did shed its hair on me and gave me a skin irritation

I'm confused:

I just continued to follow through with some gentle handling. I think when I reached in with my second hand I went to close too his face and hes realy head shy so, my bad.

How does one continue to handle their BP after it strikes? It won't just keep striking at you? Just curious for that inevitable day...

Nah, New2herp (A.K.A. NEW2D2) He just gave a lil love tap, he definitely pulled his punch, so I just kept lifting him outa the enclosure (while giving him dirty looks) and we had a good handling session from there on.

i have a really nice bp, a really mean bp, and a really shy bp. The mean one has struck but luckily not hit yet. lol

Sorry to hear that....but it goes without saying, any snake is capable of biting at one time or another...its all about the mood.

I remebered the first time one of my 8 foot Boas bit me after never ever even attempting too strike since I raised her from birth....very unpleasant experience.
