    Hatchling Ball Python has died?

Just wondering if this is something common or if I totally messed up. In the 4 years I've been keeping ball pythons I've never had ball pass away. This was our first season of breeding and one of our twenty some hatchlings I found dead while doing chores tonight. She was fine last night when I checked on her.

    Some Background info-
She's been an incredibly picky feeder from the beginning- would only eat live
Regurgitated a hopper 3 weeks ago- At a small hopper last week with no problems
Shes about a month and a half DOH.- For some reason never gained much weight like her siblings.

Just trying to figure out what went wrong. Any info is appreciated.

Can be as simple as some of them just don't make it...not every single snake hatched is going to thrive for a multitude of possible reasons, and it's a pretty unrealistic to expect otherwise.

I never feel comfortable until I see them eat and defecate. Until then, there could always be something wrong. Sorry for your loss. It is never fun to lose one.

x2. Sounds like she was kinda a runt too. Not every one will make it, its just part of breeding. Doesnt sound like an error on your part really since you have plenty of other healthy ones.

Sorry for the loss. As bad as it is nature wants only the strongest to survive. If it want for human help a lot of ball pythons born every year would not survive.
