A.P 1860/1960 41 quart rack thermostat probe placement question

ok so i have my rack together and the flexwatt ran but i notice on the rack because of where the material is cut out for the flexwatt they put the recessed hole for the probe directly behind the flexwatt instead of under it like they do in say their t3 or t8 enclosures.

i went ahead and ran my temp probe in the second shelf in the recess where it is supposed to go but im wondering if there is going to be a difference in the readings since it is not directly under or on the flexwatt and if there is a minor difference then the flexwatt would be hotter than the probe is reading correct. can any of you who have these same racks tell me where your probe is, what you set your thermostat at, and roughly what your temps read

well i just checked and with the probe in the pre made slot and the herpstat set to 95 the accurite inside the tub is reading 117 already so obviously thats not going to work so im taking the back off and putting the probe directly on the flexwatt on one side of my second shelf so it reads the flexwatt and not the temp behind it. would regular packing tape be ok to tape the probe end to the flexwatt

I'd get some foil tape if you can. I think the masking tape glue would melt and not hold up. You don't want your probe to get moved.

well i read the herpstat instructions and this is what it says so i wanted to be sure.

We do not recommend using aluminum tape to secure the probes. This can cause false readings and
    poor regulation.

if i keep the probe itself uncovered and laying on the flexwatt is it ok to just tape the wire down with aluminium tape ?

I would imagine that would work.
