    Central California field herping

Decided to head out for a little trip to a trail that commonly has reptiles
    And it did not disappoint!
First, I came upon a beautiful coast garter snake, who was kind enough to musk all over me!

Then, I nearly stepped on an alligator lizard, who was nice enough to sit still for my photos.

Finally, I found the most adorable pacific ringneck snake, no more than 6 inches long.

    Hope you enjoy the pics!

Thanks for sharing! I love the picture of the ringneck! I don't see them too often, pretty secretive, but they are beautiful! I have yet to find one that small though.
Why keep a snake? Why keep any animal? Because you enjoy the animal, find something beautiful and fascinating about it, and it fits seamlessly into your lifestyle.

That's pretty cool that you can go for a walk and find all that. Thanks for sharing.
