Snake Room Remote Monitoring and Alerts?

Considering outfitting my Snake Room with a few of these tags. Has anyone used these or similar products?

I've always thought it would be cool to give my Snake Room an IP and allow me to remotely monitor what's going on so that I could respond more quickly if something goes wrong. Putting one of these in each rack, on my chest freezer and in the room to measure ambient temperatures would be pretty cool.

Fridge starts to go out and my F/T rodents start to thaw... Get an SMS about it!
Rack 3 is 5 degrees to low... Got a tweet about it!
On vacation and want to verify temperatures... I'll just pull up the iOS app to check temps!

Prices don't seem to be as high as I might expect. Wonder if it works as good as I'm making it sound. heh

I have one of these in my snake room.

It sends a message if it goes outside the set temp/humidity range, also if it gets unplugged you get a message that it hasn't heard from the unit. It comes with a remote probe to monitor a second temperature. And you can buy add-on units and connect them to the same gateway.

I had a rack failure awhile back and lost some animals. After that I went out looking for something to alert me if this ever happened again. I use this one from http://www.lacrossetechnology.com/alerts. The unit works great and I've never had a problem with it. The major benefit to a unit like this is the expansion capability which means every rack and my incubator are all attached sending me updates if things go beyond the range. Plus I can just look it up on my phone if I ever feel the need to check it wherever I might be.

The ecozone T-stat and the herpkeeper Tstat both run these functions as well Although the tag thing is quite interesting.
