    Pied project thoughts

So since getting my male pied from my girlfriend's coworker, i been thinking of different pied projects to start getting into. I am willing to spend around $1500 on this pied project. My thought are either one of the following; get 2 female pieds, a female pastel pied, or just a single pied female and spend the extra money on a ____ 100% het pied, or save up to enter another project(either some fire combos, calico combos,or enchi combos). Im trying to think what will give me the best possibilities to have a nice pied project in the future. One of my goals will be a Black Pastel albino pied, or a Black Pewter Albino Pied(I know Im hoping high on the future project). Any thought will help, it is possible i might be able to get into the project earlier since my birthday is coming soon(Nov 15), so either family will give me extra spending money for White Plains or one of the fellow bp.net members want to send me the best birthday gift ever.

Since you already have the male pied id make use of him and but female morphs het pied. Calico, fire, or enchi het pied. Super pastel het pied would be another good female.

Pieds are cool but JUST making more pieds by buying two female pieds doesnt really seem like a "pied project" imo.

Or breed your pied male to your females and see if you can produce your own hets.

    Re: Pied project thoughts

I would cast my vote for one or two if you could afford it, female morph het pieds. Fire pied? Enchi pied? White gold's (mojo pied) are pretty cool. I would personally avoid the morphs that tend to make an all white or mostly white snake like spider. Or maybe get a female visual recessive het pied, that way you KNOW the babies will be het for the other gene, hold back a pied het male and put him back to the mom to make double recessive combos. Axanthic pieds, albino/ lav. albino pieds and ghost pieds are all the BIDNESS. Do that one!!!!!!! lol

    I agree with Mike.

I personally would get 1-2 female morphs either 100% het or not and then next year get a visual pied female for breeding any male morph het pieds that you produce too. That seems more like a pied project to me.

    Re: Pied project thoughts

I would look into the pastel pied or yellowbelly pied. I also like the idea of getting into several different morphs that are het pied. It all depends on how big of a project you want to get into. Recessive BP mprphs are really awesome and tend to hold their value quite well.

I always say never put all your eggs in the same basket so I would go with at least 2 females so if one doesn't go it's not as big of a disappointment.

I would go with female pied + female something het pied which given the budget would likely have to be a pastel het pied.

And once you are ready for a male I would say Enchi Het Pied or Fire Het Pied

I would actually spend the money on two or even three different _______ 100% het females. Pastel pieds are grand, but enchi pieds are grander... and enchi pastel pieds would be supreme. Etc. And pastel 100% hets just aren't that expensive, even females.

I like the pewter pieds. if it was me i would try and find a pewter het pied and a pied girl or maybe 2 or 3 hets girls with diff co dom traits. then you'll have some variety in your new project.
