I wasn't aware it was illegal. I have never shipped a reptile before That's why I was asking the question. I prefer to do things the right way especially when the animals health is concerned. I asked the question so I could.

You can also use ReptilesExpress.com, but if I were planning on shipping on a regular basis I would get certified on your own. The other method you can use is Delta Dash, but this only gets the animal from Airport to Airport. You don't have to get any special approvals to ship a live animal through Delta Dash.

I'm certified, but I use SYR exclusively. I have a horrible rep that I can never get in touch with.

I need the service level of SYR.

x2 SYR is easier, better service, and cheaper, and can ship directly to residences (against TOS with "regular" Fedex certification). I don't know why anyone would go straight through Fedex as long as SYR is an option.

    Re: Shipping without syr

STR and reptiles express have both been cheaper than shipping reptiles through just fedex alone.

Is it possible to order the shipping kits from SYR and have them on 'standby' until you need to book the actual shipping?

I would think you could find it at Lowes or Home Depot.......

I use kit #2 for baby ball pythons. Is this an adult? Yeah, I think kit #3 is the way to go for an adult ball python.
