Experienced with Popping/Probing in Houston Area

I will start off with saying that popping/probing corn snakes is easy as pie for me. Males pop REALLY easy and so do females. I had a snake that was sold to me as male but popped female...so I probed her and sure enough...he was a she. Now...I'm not experienced with ball pythons. Is anyone in the Houston area an experienced popper and prober? I'd like to refine my technique so when I get hatchlings in a year or two, I can pop/probe them successfully without hurting them.

Yep, but I'm a wee bit out of houston's immediate area. You can go visit Andy Maddox though over at the ultimate reptile shop (pets-a-plenty) just outside tomball Texas (about 30 minutes from central north 610 loop). He charges a small fee, but can pop small snakes for you and show you what's going on. If you've never been its a GREAT place to go kill time and see what he has.

Re: Experienced with Popping/Probing in Houston Area

i learned by popping them myself after watching videos on youtube. at 1st i was a little nervous because i was afraid i might squeeze to hard but i started off applying a little pressure then if it didn't work i would do a little more pressure until i popped out hemipenes on males i knew their sex and then females i got from breeders until i knew the difference and now it's pretty easy popping bps as long as they stay still for awhile.
