looking for bulk bags sphagnum moss

i have heard of people finding bulk type bags of sphagnum moss at lowes is there a certain brand or type im looking for ? if you buy yours at lowes can you post the brand name / sku # or a pic of the bag so i can pick some up. i have a big water bowl for my blood but want to make a humid hide for him also just to be sure he gets the humidity he needs. if you have a pic or two of your humid hides i would love to see them. i was planning on just putting a medium size cat litter pan with about two inches of moss in the corner so he could hide in it and it would also give off some extra humidity for the rest of the enclosure.

Rather then a hardware store, I've found the best places to find something like that is at a nursery or a hydroponics supply store.

We don't use humid hides for any of our bloods/stps, but do utilize long fiber sphagnum moss for nest boxes. Just search for it online - you can usually find better pricing than you will at a hardware store type place.

thanks for the links everyone, i found a decent size bag at lowes for 5.00 bucks its about twice the size petsmart sells for 15.00. it will at least give me enough to try it out and if it works i will buy more from one of the links yall gave me. kara that sounds like what im doing i am using a 6.2 quart sterilite latch box without the lid and latches just to give him a little more humidity and another option for hiding in he still has two other regular black box type hides to hang out in if he chooses. i will try it out and see how it goes if he dont like it i will just stick to the hides and water bowl. thanks again

I prefer to buy wholesale sphagnum moss in bulk from a supplier based in Oregon, where the moss is richest, instead of expensive name-brand moss. The moss is consistently succulent year round, and my babies love how it keeps everything cool and moist.
