iPhone 5 fails again...
So apparently the iPhone 5 is no longer going to use Google maps. Instead apple is going to use their "map app"... why do you ask? Why does apple do everything proprietary... money. The plan is that they will be able to show adds on the app relevant to your starting point and destination since they will have private access to your locations. So glad I'm an android user! Get unplugged from the apple matrix!!!

not only that, but do you guys realize it has a whole new charger? This means all of your little docks are basically useless now, and you'll need to get a new one to fit the 5.
Mine's bigger.

People need to calm down about this kind of stuff imo. Life is change. The best thing we can do is just roll with the punches.

True that. You can't expect the same phone to have the same charger the whole life, well maybe the Nokia. I've used both phone and honestly think the iPhones are superior. Who cares if it's not google, the maps talk to you now, IMO that's a wonderful improvement.

I would take an android over an iPhone any day.

I got an iPhone in June and I'm never going back. I had android before and that was not nearly as fast even on 4G.

The door is open for wireless charging and wireless sync progress marches on I am sure in a few months the new advances will be being copied by others. Apple has always been ahead just look at the newton. Still has the best handwriting recognition software available even after what 10 years?

Actually tech reviews are talking about how iPhone are behind the curve in comparison to advances Android is making.
The map talking to you in this thread alone is one example. Siri was copied from an already existing Android app. I'll see if I can dig up the article I read recently with others.
Most reviews of the new iPhone are talking about how much the new phone is a non event, that other than form factor, they were expecting a lot more.
