    Does anyone's ball do this?

Every single night, as soon as it gets dark she comes out of her hide. Sometimes she's super active and roams around all night. Literally all night! And other nights like tonight, she sits on top of her hide. All night long, she just sits there staring off into space! I thought maybe she was hungry... But she does this even after she's eaten. Maybe she's just a happy curious ball? She's the complete opposite of my other ball, who doesn't leave his hides at night.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I knew they were active at night. I was just curious of the reasoning behind laying on top of the hides without moving. I'm sure it's completely normal, I just wanted to know if there was a particular reason. Lol

Wow... My snake comes out and roams all over lol she poses a lot... Somehow when i go near the tank my ol lady awl ways says the snake knows it cause her lil head pops out and she comes to investigate. It's cute. But she's a little social butterfly! While yes out a lot at night she's very social during the day

You've probably already done this, but check your temps. What's the ambient like on top of your hide?

They are more active at night, but she might be looking for heat when it gets cool if you don't have a UTH.

Anybody know how long a ball python is "supposed" to stay awake and be active at night? That might be of use here.

My computer chair is RIGHT next to my rack and often times, I look over and see my normal sitting on top of her hide staring at me. It's so creepy!

Just after it gets dark mine sticks her head out and slowly comes out alittle at a time until she has half of her body just outside her hide. She will stay like this all night until the sun stats to come up. She usually does take a little lap or two around the tank too.

I have never caught mine sitting on top of her hide though but I did catch her sitting on top of a water dripper I had in there a while back.

Ambient stays at 84. I got a thermostat over the weekend and that's keeping the hotspot at 90. Humidity is good.
