    Opinions on feeding

So I bought a bag of frozen rat fuzzies at the last show. Henna is 122g as of yesterday after her first deification. Most of the rat fuzzies are between 12-15g (I have 3 at 12g). Now my question is, would it be alright to feed her every 3 or 4 days to power through the smaller ones? She has been eating the high end of her range (15% body weight) for the past few weeks every 5 days. Would the low end (10%) every 3 days be too much for her? Happy medium of 4 days? Or just give her the rat fuzzies that are 15% of her now, and save the smaller ones for my next snake (could be a few weeks, could be a few months, who knows!)?

Am I being too anal about this? lol

I just want her to grow big and happy, and she's a pig of an eater, so I want to make sure she's nice and full after her feeding.

You're being too anal. There is nothing wrong with feeding her every 3-4 days on the smaller size until they are gone. If you alternate 3 and 4 day intervals, you can still feed on the same days each week: Sun and Wed, Mon and Thurs, etc. There's also nothing wrong with just sticking to your 5-day schedule.

    Thanks! I figured I was
She's probably like "seriously woman...if I'm hungry, I'll eat it...just give it to me already!"
One day I'll stop being such a worry wart....maybe.

And that's the day she'll go on hunger strike, just to mess with your head!

    Re: Opinions on feeding

My young girls are 150 grams, and well,2 of them will be happy for a week after eating a fuzzy rat, whereas my pig of an eater Sphinx ate 3 large mice last week o_o..
Juno-my adult female, has been on frozen rats, but hasnt eaten for me yet(got her a week ago,she hit shed 2 days after I got her).Kinda interested to see how different the feeding is since my little girls still have no interest in F/T.

    Re: Opinions on feeding

Just in my opinion, feed her the smaller ones on a 4 day cycle then move it back up once you get to the larger ones, I'm not a fan of power feeding but if the prey is a smaller size there shouldn't be a problem.

I think I'll do the 4 day. Then switch back to 5 day when the smaller ones are gone (only 3 12g and 1 13g, rest are 15-19). And if she doesn't take it quickly off the tongs as she usually does, I'll just stick to the 5 day. Though I doubt that will be a problem...every time I dry my hair I see her poking her head out of the hide flicking her tongue like crazy...she'd probably eat daily until she popped if I let her heh.

    Thanks for all the advice
