    my new lemon!!!!

So i just got my new lemon pastel in the mail today (fedex) and i love him. I was just wondering if you think he will keep his color bright or will it dull down with age? He is a month old and 80 grams. The breeder said they would feed him rat pups that had no fur once a week. Is that enough or should i do the every 5 day feeding schedule to fatten him up? Over all i just want to make sure he is healthy. He seems happy and he has been active checking out his new home. Thanks for your input

Cute little guy. I don't know about the rocks in there though. What if he knocked them over on himself, he could get squished.

I have actually had rocks in my other bp cage for almost a year with no issues. They actually make great hides. Both seem to love them. I make sure they are secure first of course.

Put him on a 5 day schedule to keep him nice and healthy. Also I think he may darken up a bit but who knows for sure.

Not to be rude, but just because something has been ok for awhile doesn't mean its good. Not ideal for hides either. Bps like very secure hides, a pile of rocks is not ideal.

Well that's understandable. What would be ideal? And I'm hoping he wont darken. I like bright. But overall looks healthy and like a good purchase?

He looks healthy yes. I don't know lemons, so not sure how much he will fade. Reptile basics carries the best hides, these black ones here-

I breed lemons. He will go through an ugly duckling stage (most lemons do) . After about his fifth shed, he should start to brighten some. But he is what I'd rate as an average lemon and most likely will brown out as an adult.

They'll keep their yellow closer to the belly. High grade lemons look good as adults, lower grade will look like all other browned out pastels.
