Re: feeding
Crosses of what? Pimbura is valid and very real - and apparently easier to come by than the protected Indian (Rock). Sure it isn't the Indian you are thinking of? I know laws allow them to be exported only if they are not purebreed - to circumvent this they usually take offspring from a Indian X Burmese and market/sell as an Indian.

I know a guy here in town who has two of them. He says they are pretty aggressive. But gosh they are beautiful pythons

Yes it was - especially since Kashmir was still RELATIVELY safe for trekking and climbing at that point.

HI all,
Burmese pythons: python molorus bivittatis
Indian python: python molorus molorus
Ceylon pythons: python molorus pimbura
(sorry if spelling is a bit off)
The three species above have been interbred by hobbiest breeders for years, there in lies the problem.
Indians are almost extinct, and If I can remember correctly ceylons are close to it also. In captiivity you can get mixes down the street at your local petshop, and not even know it. Our burms always want to breed like mad rabbits, so when they first started WC these three snakes, they grabbed em' and bred em'. Sadly this is the decline of two very beautiful species at mans hands.
