    Size question!

    Hi,

I was wondering if adult boas can live in 41 qt tubs.

    Thanks in advance.

IMO no, but I'm sure some people house dwarf boas (Nics, Sonorans, CAs, maybe some Hogs) in large tubs.

Vivs are the way to go. Especially if you're looking at Colombians, Argentines, Peruvians, other BCCs, etc

I would say no way unless it is a dwarf type of boa. I think if it can reach 6 feet in length or more than 41 qt tubs are too small. I agree with daybreaker vivs are the way to go.

I agree with both responses too. A 41qt tub is too small for almost any kind of boa with the exception of Sand Boas. Iris makes a Christmas Tree tub that can often be found at Walmart or Meijer around the holidays that is fairly acceptable for average sized BCIs, but still not appropriate, imo, for larger females or BCCs.

My personal opinion is a minimum enclosure for a boa is a 4x2x2 foot viv or pvc cage and larger is always better.

    Re: Size question!

Most of my Colombian females out grow a 41 by 18-24 months.... I keep bigger boas in 4ft ers..... I am working on getting some more caging for the grow up stuff to go in by the first of the year, i am debating on 3ft cages for the smaller locals, but 4ft ers are easier to come by... So I say Deffinatly no on a 41..... there are some ars racks that would house adult boas, but caging will be simmilar priced......

    Re: Size question!

    There are bigger tubs.
Vision has the high priced boa tubs.
CB-110's are something like 19.5" x 39". I've got some male boas that just won't be small enough for the CB-110.
CA BCI may be fine in the bigger tubs, but the larger boas demand bigger enclosures. There are some big rack systems that would work fine. Just depends what you want. Seems like I see very little of the snakes I have in tubs compared to my constant peering into my boa cages.
